Get your dance on in Dalston Square - Dance Nations event on 19 July

Dalston is the home of dance on the 19 July with Dance Nations, an all-day free event for all ages celebrating dance, music culture from across the globe.

Supported by Hackney Council and produced by the Barbican and Hackney Cooperative Developments, the Dance Nations free event is packed full of live music, dance, workshops and film for all ages and abilities to experience and enjoy.

Taking place in the Gillett Square, Dalston, residents from across, as well as from outside of the borough, are welcome to come along and dance the day away with a range of global treats that include bollywood, latin, columbian and 1950s swing styles.The event will also see live songs and harmonies from South Africa, reggae beats, hip-hop moves, Tanzania acrobatics and a DJ-set till mid-night in the Vortex Jazz Club. A stunning documentary will also be shown in the evening to give the dancing feet a break.

Even if dance isn’t a preferred pastime, Dance Nations Dalston is an opportunity to experience a carnival atmosphere during this summer season.
