people-woman-meeting.jpg

Faith leaders across Hackney are being offered free training to understand the new central Government roll out of Universal Credit.

The Hackney Faith Community Network steering group is organising the training course, which takes place at the Hoxton Opportunity Hub on Tuesday 7 November.

Open to all faith leaders in Hackney, participants will be trained on the new universal credit systems and learn how residents can be signposted to the correct information and support. Guidance will also be given on where Hackney residents can sign up to employment schemes, adult learning and care services.

Cllr Anntoinette Bramble, Deputy Mayor of Hackney
Faith leaders play a key role in our community, the introduction of Universal Credit will no doubt have an effect on residents and members of congregations across Hackney. This training will enable faith leaders to have a better understanding and be more effective in offering support.
Cllr Anntoinette Bramble, Deputy Mayor of Hackney
