Flower Power is back!

If you are proud of your planting skills and think your garden is among the borough’s best, then why not enter this year’s Hackney in Bloom contest?

The annual event celebrates the beauty of garden areas in local homes, pubs, businesses, open spaces and schools.

This year, the competition judges will be awarding marks for sustainability and biodiversity as well as looking at entrants imaginative use of flowers, shrubs, display excellence, colour, condition, quality of layout and overall impact.

Cllr Nargis Khan, Cabinet Member for Community Services, which includes parks and open spaces, said: "We are pleased to support Hackney in Bloom and I look forward to it each year as I m always impressed with the standard of entries. The contest is an opportunity for people to show how much they care about their gardens and the local environment. All their hard work supports the Council s continuing desire to make the borough a great place to live, work and visit."
