Family fun day on 23 February

FUN for Hackney folk of all ages will be on offer at an event featuring a bouncy castle, face painting, relaxing massage, and health checks.

The Health and Hackney event takes place at Princess May Primary School, in Princess May Road, on 23 February between 11am and 3pm.

As well as fun for all the family, the event also features information on health services, including GPs, a mobile dentist unit, and immunisations.

It is being organised by the Council s Health in Hackney Scrutiny Commission, and members of the Commission will be asking residents at the event for their views on accessing and using healthcare services in the borough.

Cllr Jonathan McShane, Chair of the Health in Hackney Scrutiny Commission, said: "This is a great opportunity for Hackney people to come along and find out more about services available in the borough - and also to let us know about what matters most when it comes to healthcare."

The event is being organised by Hackney Council in partnership with the City and Hackney Teaching Primary Care Trust, Homerton University NHS Foundation Trust Hospital and East London NHS Foundation Trust.

Scrutiny Commissions are made up of Councillors who work across party political lines and investigate issues of local concern.

The Health in Hackney Scrutiny Commission considers health service matters and makes reports and recommendations to healthcare providers.
