Families encouraged to make a Change4Life

Change4Life

THIS September Hackney Council is encouraging families to sign up for Change4Life and make a healthy start to the new school term.

Eating well and moving more can help children’s bodies and brains develop better. It can even boost their concentration at school, and could help them make the best start they can to a new school year!

All parents need to do is visit Change4Life and sign up to the six week back to school programme, by 15 September. Parents can download the free Smart Restart app, and they will receive loads of tips and tools to help make one small change become a healthy habit. .

Everyone who signs up will receive support from Change4Life via email and text messages for six weeks from the start of term, as well as details of special offers, competitions and virtual rewards for children. There are loads of great tips and ideas to keep families on track.

Changes are easy to adapt into busy lives and include swapping regular car or bus journeys for walking, scooting or cycling. Tempting children away from their screens for 30 minutes a day with fun game ideas and swapping kids’ treats for healthier alternatives.

Parents can follow Change4Life on Twitter and like the Facebook page.
