Dalston Music Festival 2015

Hackney Council is supporting the borough’s first Dalston Music Festival, an all-day event on 11 July that celebrates the music and culture of the destination.

In its inaugural year, the 2015 Dalston Music Festival starts at 12 midday on Saturday with a 40 act line-up that is taking place across eight of Dalston’s leading venues.

The festival will include a free outdoor event at Gillett Square that will host the official outdoor stage with visuals, DJs and MCs.

Festival goers who fancy a bite to eat can visit Bradbury Street - home to some of Hackney’s finest restaurants.Those with a wristband will be able to roam freely between the eight different stages, all a mere stone’s throw from the Square. Renowned local venues will be opening their doors to over 40 acts that will be playing a whole host of different music from pop, electronic music, jazz and house to punk, bashment and reggae.

Big names from local music will be in attendance, plus some special guests who will be dropping by to play surprise sets that will be announced in the run-up to the festival and throughout the day.The Dalston Music Festival has been set up by local musicians to bring the local community together using Hackney’s rich and powerful music scene.

Hackney has a long tradition of being the place where there is an exciting, progressive and creative music community. From composers to songwriters, musicians to singers, from classic to contemporary, all are found in Hackney.

The Dalston Music Festival 2015 has been brought about by Hackney's talented local community and has every prospect of becoming the "Sundance" for music. The place where you can come to hear the best of new contemporary music performed by some of the best talent in the UK.

The festival is supported by Hackney Council, Arts Council England and Hackney Co-operative Developments.

The festival event in Gillett Square is free of charge, beginning at 12 midday on Saturday 11 July.

Festival wristbands to visit the other festival venues are available to buy from: www.billetto.co.uk/dalstonmusicfestival. The prices are £15 for a second tier ticket, £20 for a third tier ticket and £25 on the day – subject to availability.
