Come and trace your family history for free

Local people interested in finding out more about their family history are invited to a free session next weekend (Saturday 15 September).

Family history can give an insight into a place like Hackney through the stories of people who lived there. The workshop will help people get started on tracing their family tree, and may even help uncover some interesting facts or family secrets!

The session will offer pointers on how to do research using the free local resources available in Hackney. There will also be an introduction into using Ancestry.com in Hackney’s libraries and the Hackney Archives.

Everyone is welcome, but booking is necessary, contact Hackney Archives on 020 8356 8925 or archives@hackney.gov.uk

The free session is run by Hackney Archives, Every Generation with the support of Discover Hackney. It takes place in Hackney Council’s Dalston C.L.R. James Library and Hackney Archives, Dalston Square, 2 to 4pm, Saturday 15 September.
