Bank Holiday Pride in the Park picnic

Saturday, 26 August, 12 noon-6pm, Haggerston Park, Whiston Road, E2

Families can come together this bank holiday in Haggerston Park for the Pride in the Park picnic, an event aimed at LGBTQI+ families, their friends and allies on Saturday, 26 August.

Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic food and a blanket, enjoy the sunshine, hang-out with friends and meet new people by taking part in one of the many free, fun activities on offer which include games, sports and crafts. There will also be food stalls, ice cream and face painting.

The Council's fostering and adoption service will also be on hand to give out information on becoming a LGBTQI+ foster carer or adoptive family in Hackney.

Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney
This is a great opportunity for all types of families to come together this bank holiday, share food, and have fun in the sun. I’m proud that we can use Hackney’s much loved outdoor spaces, like Haggerston Park, to play host to inclusive events like this, that support the borough’s diverse communities and embrace its many different types of family units. I would encourage people to come along and join in the celebration.
Philip Glanville, Mayor of Hackney

The event is being held near the Whiston Road entrance of the park and will take place from noon until 6pm.

Tickets are free, you can book your family a space by registering on Eventbrite, or by clicking attending on the Facebook event

The Pride in the Park picnic is just one of the events for Hackney Pride 365, a community-led festival that aims to celebrate the borough’s historic, diverse and boundary-breaking LGBTQI+ community every day of the year.
