Hackney’s small businesses will get the know-how to grow thanks to the first Hackney Business Bootcamp, a free full day of expert led seminars, workshops and personalised support.

Taking place on 2 October, 9am - 4:30pm, the Hackney Business Network Bootcamp will give the borough’s small businesses free training, advice and guidance from leading industry experts.

Set in the borough’s new Hackney House BL-NK venue, launched this month in Curtain Road and purpose-built to promote and support the local business community, the Bootcamp will include three different workshops to choose from, providing attendees with a pick ‘n’ mix of business growth essentials from national initiatives – the Business Growth Service, Get Set for Growth and People Skills.

Across the venue’s two meeting rooms, attending businesses will be able to learn more about the following topics:

  • Digital marketing - how to choose the right strategy for increased sales and profits.
  • Becoming ‘investment ready’ – get financed with a solid business plan and sound financial documents.
  • Successful hiring for small businesses - attract, interview, recruit and retain a workforce.

There will also be opportunities for one-to-one support in the a café area, giving guests an opportunity to cover any specifics relevant to their business not included during the workshop sessions.

Networking with fellow businesses will take place at the end of the day.

Cllr Guy Nicholson, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Hackney Council
The Hackney Business Network Bootcamp is designed to bring free industry experience and expertise to our business community. The three themes - recruiting the right candidates for the job, effective digital marketing and getting your business investment ready are all geared to provide Hackney’s entrepreneurs with the advice they might need to grow their businesses. The Bootcamp is taking place at the new three storey Hackney House BL-NK venue in Shoreditch, available for Hackney’s businesses to meet or showcase their products.
